In the Law of Attraction circles, people talk about the “buffer of time”. This is the time between you asking the Universe/Source/God for what you want, and when you actually receive it.
I’ve been studying aspects of the Law of Attraction for 30 years now, and the buffer of time thing was never really been quite clear for me (well, I knew what it was but I was terrible at explaining it!) – until last night!
I was reading “Rich as f*ck” by Amanda Frances (interesting book title I know, but it’s actually a really great book!), and she explained it in a way that totally made sense to me, and I will try to explain it to you now, in my own words.
We are manifesting constantly, whether it’s good stuff or bad – our thoughts create things, so if we’re thinking good thoughts we create what we want, and if we’re thinking not so good thoughts, then what we create may not be quite what we want! That’s LOA 101.
Ok, so this buffer of time thing works like this…
Let’s say your finances are in the toilet and you’ve begun the work to shift your mindset to one that’s more positive and vibrationally aligned with what you DO want (aka lots of money!). You do your gratitudes every day, you’re watching your thoughts, you’re visualising your goals, and anything else you can fit into your day to get you aligned with that chunk of money that you want.
But… nothing’s happening and you’ve been at this for weeks or even months!! What’s going on???
It’s at this point that many (most) people give up, but if you just hold on a bit longer and take notice of what I’m writing here, you will see that giving up isn’t going to get you what you want, but faith and belief IS!
There’s a reason why this is taking some time to shift for you though.
Before you began writing your affirmations and visualising your goals etc, your thoughts matched your finances – they were also in the toilet – and those old thoughts were creating scenarios that matched them, and those scenarios still need to be played out. But it’s not all bad news.
So what you’re going to begin to see is that while some aspects of your life still suck, there will be some little teeny tiny improvements starting to happen. You may find 5c on the ground as you’re walking the dog, or a friend who owed you $20 unexpectedly paid you back, or you receive a refund for something you’d forgotten about.
Yes, the rest of your life still may be in the toilet, but these are little seedlings of sunshine starting to poke through, that you must acknowledge, because they are proof that things are beginning to shift for you!
Whenever you see a new “seedling” pop through, acknowledge it, and feel grateful for yet another reminder that things are starting to shift, and watch for these seedlings every day. The more you’re looking for them, the more that will appear. This stuff really works, and if you keep watching for these seedlings, the toilet stuff will eventually start to fade away as they’ve all played out and are no longer a part of your awareness.
Try it and see what happens – you will be so glad that you did!
