My horse Mr Odin (Odi) came off a cattle station 8 years ago. When I bought him he was drugged to the eyeballs, and when he came off the drugs he was deemed a dangerous horse.
I’ve re-started him since then and he is great going out with other horses, but could still be reactive and didn’t cope well on his own. We’ve been going out walking, but we still have bucking and meltdowns when he’s a bit worried. He has always had trouble standing still, and when he gets very excited, he rushes.
Michelle started working with Odi last week, and over the last two days he has been able to stand still while he’s been rugged and unrugged.
This morning we went for a bit of a walk around his paddock on his own and he had a big fright, ripped the lead rope out of my hand and went to run off, as soon as I had said “woo” he stopped and didn’t move his feet again until I asked him to. No bucking, no freaking out and snorting!
The rest of the walk was nice calm, no rushing, no worrying he wasn’t with the others and head long and low, very relaxed Mr Odi. Was an awesome walk, and we thoroughly enjoyed our wander together.
Thank you Michelle, highly recommended.
