If you’re suffering from chronic illness or pain, it’s very likely you’ve been hoping and praying that you will soon begin to feel better – we all do this, right?
Since becoming an energy practitioner however, I have learned that not everyone wants to heal, even if they think they do. In fact, they will literally “block” their ability to heal, through their subconscious thoughts and beliefs.
I’ve worked on many clients who were “benefiting” in some way by being sick, and the reasons varied, as follows:
- They received more attention from their loved ones
- They didn’t have to go to work if they were sick
- They didn’t want to lose their disability pension
- They would join Facebook groups of people with the same illness, so they felt fear that they would lose this connection with those people if they were no longer sick
- The pain or illness was how they identified themselves – losing that mean losing their identity
These are just some of the many reasons why somebody may be holding onto their illness and pain and as you can see, the reasons for this can be quite complicated and certainly not black and white!
If you’re struggling to heal from a physical illness or chronic pain, while there is likely some medical and/or energy work required to get to the cause, you might want to ask yourself these few questions:
- Am I benefiting in any way from this illness/pain?
- If this illness/pain disappeared overnight, what would my life be like tomorrow? How would this feel? If you immediately feel a little “on edge”, that might be something for you to explore.
- Who am I without this illness/pain? What would my daily interactions with others look like? What would we talk about or share?
After exploring these questions, you may find that something comes up, or maybe you won’t – sometimes we need to dig deeper. I suggest digging into questions 2 and 3 however, because these questions will help you to build in your mind an idea of what may be possible in your future.
Having this picture is essential if you want to create a happier, healthier, pain-free life, and is literally the first thing I ask my clients to do, because having clarity about what you want and how it feels to have what you want, is the foundation for actually creating what you want.
