You get what you think about, whether you want it or not…
Abraham-Hicks
As the saying goes, where you put your thoughts, and therefore your energy, is what you will create more of in your life.
So if you are saying “Yes” to something wonderful, you will attract more wonderful things into your life.
But if you’re saying “No” to something you don’t want, you will attract more of what you don’t want into your life.
Have you ever met somebody who always had something wrong with them? And the reason you knew something was wrong with them was because they kept telling you about it, complaining about how horrible things were? It was like they “attracted” illness after illness, or accident after accident, and that’s actually what they were doing – they were attracting more of the same, because they continued to focus on what they didn’t want!
And then there’s the example of a person who always seems to have things go right. Usually that person is me! Throughout my life I have attracted lucky breaks, or I applied for my dream job, competing against 100’s of other applicants, but I somehow managed to get through. Or the number of near misses I’ve had – I always knew I was protected, and the outcomes in my life have proven that to be true!
We hear in the media stories about the “Fight against terrorism”, or the “Fight against cancer/COVID/any other thing we don’t want”, and what do you think they are doing here? They are definitely saying “No” to something, but in doing so, they’re creating a focus and energy towards that thing they don’t want.
What if the media and the people of the world shifted this focus onto something we do want?
We would have the “Fight for peace”, or the “Fight for good health” instead! What difference do you think this could create in the world? What if we created more peace, and more good health and wellness in our world? Wouldn’t it be wonderful?? 🙂
Here’s a little exercise for you to consider, to ensure you are only including what you do want into your life…
- Watch your thoughts and spoken words – be aware of what you are including in your life.
- If you notice these thoughts and words are negatively-focused, shift them. Eg. If you notice yourself using words like “I don’t want this” or “This is bad” or anything “negative”, shift it around. Shift it to “But I DO want this” or “This would be good” and more “positive” phrases.
- Keep doing this forever!
As you can see, it’s quite easy to shift your focus, but it does take a bit of practise to be in that positive space to begin with – but it can be done and you can absolutely do it too!
