When I was completing my Body Code certification, we were taken to a discussion about weight loss, and in particular, why some people struggle to lose weight.
We were told that one of the contributing factors of weight gain was toxins. When these toxins are present, our body will produce extra fat in order to dilute those toxins. What happens when we lose weight without ridding ourselves of these toxins, is that the body detects that the toxins are no longer being diluted, so again more fat is created.
What you see here is a typical “yo-yo” weight loss cycle where the weight is lost then put back on again, then it is lost again, then put back on again, and so on.
So where do these toxins come from? There are three main forms of toxins:
- Toxins in your energy field – these form due to trapped energies such as “negative” emotions or imbalances which are not properly processed. They therefore remain in your energy field until they are released by either yourself or an energy practitioner.
- Toxins you eat – we are all aware of the chemicals being used in food production, and we all know that there are certain foods which are not supportive to our bodies – or to weight loss in particular (this is a no-brainer).
- Toxins in your environment – household cleaners can be full of chemicals, your shampoos, soaps, and even the makeup you put on your face. Then you have general air pollution, especially if you live in or near a city.
You have the most control over what you eat and what you allow into your home environment of course, so it’s important that if you want to lose weight, that you clean these areas up first, as they’re the easiest to do.
If your body is currently carrying a lot of toxicity, I’d suggest you do the following (please seek medical advice if you are taking any medication or are suffering from a medical condition):
- Eat more fruits and vegetables – make sure you clean your fruit and veggies with a safe, chemical-free cleaner first though – many crops are sprayed with nasty chemicals which will contribute to the toxins in your body.
- If you don’t feel you’re getting enough nutrients into your body, you may want to consider chemical-free, plant based supplements. You really need to shop around here. I’ve seen many great products around, but they cost the earth! I’ve also seen products which don’t provide much benefit. Do your research!
- Read the labels on all of your supermarket cleaners, including shampoos and soaps – you’d be surprised at the amount of crap they put in these products! Replace these with quality chemical-free, plant-based products that actually work (thankfully I’ve found my replacements!).
I recently read a story about a lady who had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She questioned the doctor as to how this could have happened to her, because she had been leading a healthy lifestyle, she exercised regularly, she ate healthy foods, and so on.
After questioning her about the products she used around the home, he suggested that she remove every supermarket-bought cleaning product from her home immediately, as these were literally killing her! She followed his instructions that day, found replacements through an online wellness shopping club (I am a member of this same club) and she’s never looked back.
Like most people, I was unaware of how much rubbish is being sold to us every day from our local supermarkets in particular, but I’ve been going through my cupboards and reading the labels over the last week and to be honest, I’m extremely disappointed. Why do they need to put this rubbish into these products, when leaving them out and replacing them with healthier options is still going to get us the same (or better) results? I’ll let you answer that one!
