2015 and beyond – what are your goals?



New year is approaching and that’s the time when we all reflect on the year that has past and make plans for the future, right?

So…. let’s start a few days early!

I know that it’s common for a new year’s resolution to be dropped over time, so let’s think about what you want to do LONG term. What do you want to achieve in 5-10 years? What can you do next year to move you closer to that goal?

That’s where my thoughts are right now.

I’ve always had this feeling that I was destined for more than the regular 9-5, and after being offered a redundancy at work in July this year, it really opened my eyes up to how unreliable a job really is. It made me realise that if I don’t do something about creating a secondary stream of income soon, what will happen if I am made redundant again in my current job?

I’ve had a lot to think about! And this is the basis of everything I have decided I need to do this coming year. My future is important to me, and I don’t want to hit 60 or 65 and have nothing. I want to have at the very LEAST, a small nest egg and recurring income to sustain me.

I’ve dabbled in many things over the years and while I love the products I’ve been selling, the whole time it takes to work in those businesses was just too much for me – plus they required that I go out every week and do stand up presentations. Whilst I don’t really suffer from stage fright anymore, the last thing I want to do after working a 12 hour day, is to go out again, stand in front of a dozen or so people, tell them how wonderful the product is (and it is), then deal with a bunch of skeptics.

Nah, I’m leaving that for those with thicker skin and more energy!

So… as I posted earlier in the month, I’ve found a skincare and makeup line that suits me perfectly, and selling it has actually been easier than I thought! Why? Because I use it, I tell my friends, I show them the results, and they are like “Wow!”, and they buy. Two have already joined me in this business, they’re so impressed!

Not only is this product easy to sell, but there was something else about the product line that I loved:

  • Their motto: Living the Younique lifestyle is a commitment to uplifting, empowering, and validating women everywhere. It’s devoting yourself to helping a global family of women realize their potential for personal growth and financial reward. This is in line with what I’ve been trying to do on this site – provide women with a way to empower themselves so that they can make better life choices. Awesome!
  • Their products are not tested on animals, are mostly natural, and they’re AMAZING! As a relative of mine said, “Omgsh Michelle those fiber lashes are amazeballs! So beautiful and long & lush! Pls send me info on how to become a rep!”. Yup it was THAT easy! All she had to do was try them and she fell in love.
  • I can do this thing 100% online. No need to go to somebody’s house and do a “party”, no having to get a bunch of people over so I can do a presentation, none of that. All I have to do is get myself on Facebook and post before and after shots of myself and my lovely customers, answer questions (on Facebook) and post the link to my free website, created by the company! I can do this thing in addition to my job without compromising a thing – and my relationship gets to stay intact too! 😉

So… here’s what I plan to do next month based on all of this, as I’ve decided to set myself up some monthly challenges, which will get me towards my main long-term goal:

  • Continue to promote this business and increase sales. This is a relatively new company, so word is only just starting to get out about it. NOW is the time to get started in this, when it’s just taking off. Who knows where it will end up?? :)
  • Have at least one more person join my team, so I achieve the “Fast Start” award. To achieve this I need to earn 2000 in “PRS points” (these are points allocated with every sale – I’ve already achieved this), and have three new presenters join my team. Last night Presenter #2 joined my team, so I have one to go! Woohoo! And I didn’t have to convince anybody – they asked ME about joining. This is important, because it highlights just how awesome the products are!
  • Focus on achieving Pink status. This company sets you up as a “White status” presenter. The next level is Yellow (I have achieved this and have received a pay rise as a result), followed by Pink. So pink is my next goal! Wooooo!

So that’s my January goals!

If you look good, you feel good – 5 things you can do to boost your vibe

Sometimes it’s great to just sit around at home in your PJs and slippers, and not have to worry about taking a shower or doing your hair, knowing that you don’t have to make an effort to look presentable.

But let’s face it – that’s ok every once in a while, but take this attitude towards your appearance for too long, and you will notice a drop in your vibe.

I know that if I take extra care with my appearance, both with my choice of clothing and my makeup, I do feel better about myself. I feel more attractive.

And when I feel better about myself, it shows to the outside world in more ways than one!

Now don’t get me wrong – I am in no way a “high maintenance” woman when it comes to my appearance. Most days, I spend around 5 minutes doing my hair, which involves running a brush through it a couple of times, and a few minutes with the hair dryer. That’s it!

But with a little bit of makeup on, as well as clothes that flatter my figure, I walk out of the house feeling GOOD about myself!

And as a single woman, it pays huge dividends to spend just a few extra minutes and take a little bit of extra care when getting ready to leave the house! 😉

What’s funny about this is that I doubt it has much, if anything, to do with how I look, but rather how I feel. When I feel good, I smile more, and I radiate a positive energy. In turn, I notice that I receive a lot more attention than I do on days when I didn’t take so much care in my appearance, even if the difference in my appearance is only subtle.

So what are 5 things you can do to boost your vibe?

  1. Take a little bit of extra care with your makeup. Don’t go too heavy.
  2. Choose clothes that flatter your figure. Ok, you may love that figure-hugging micro mini, but if you’ve got a bit of a muffin top happening and your legs aren’t exactly looking their best, then it’s best to give it a miss for something less clingy and revealing.
  3. Wear shoes and clothes you feel confortable in. I LOVE to wear high heels, and wear them most days, but many women struggle with these. So choose shoes that look good and are comfy too. Even a small heel can be flattering.
  4. Accessories can go a long way to making your outfit complete. Don’t go overboard though – less is often more.
  5. Wear sexy underwear! Even though the world can’t see it, there’s no better feeling than knowing you’re looking like a sexy vixen under those clothes! 😉

I could go on, but these five things will certainly help you to boost your vibe! :)

Self confidence is about feeling good about yourself

Although I’m a strong believer in appreciating what’s on the inside and that how you feel on the inside is what really matters, I also believe that if you know you look good, you will feel good.

Let’s look at two scenarios here.

In the first scenario you get out of bed and get ready for your day. You don’t bother with makeup or looking after your skin because you’re happy to just “grow old gracefully”.

You don’t exercise regularly and you try to eat healthy sometimes, but excercise and healthy eating is not important to you.

You feel sluggish most of the time, and you really don’t like that ever-growing muffin top. But at the same time, you’re not prepared to do what it takes to change.

You look in the mirror.

What you see is somebody who is slightly overweight, lacking in energy, and who doesn’t take much pride in her appearance.

Now let’s look at the next scenario…

You get out of bed and you follow your daily beauty routine of cleansing your face, toning and moisturising. You apply a little makeup and you dress in clothes that flatter your figure.

You go about your day and fit in a one hour workout which makes you feel great!

You eat healthy foods all day and you drink plenty of water.

You feel good AND you know you look good! Everybody around you notices too and many of your friends and colleagues comment on how lucky you are to have such a great figure.

Ok, so we can see that we have two very different people here.

Which one are you?

Do you take care of yourself, both inside and out? Do you take pride in your appearance?

Or do you not care? What price are you paying for not caring?

I know from my own experience that when I’m working out regularly, eating well and making an effort in my physical appearance, I feel GREAT! My self confidence rises and I feel as though I can take on the world!

On the other hand, like you probably do, I have “icky” days sometimes. On those days I get lazy, I eat bad food and I make ZERO effort to look good. And you know what? I feel yuk as a result!

I’m happy to say that this rarely happens to me these days, because I’ve learned that being in the habit of looking after myself brings much better results than the alternative.

So what are you doing to look after yourself each day?

Do you have a weekly exercise routine? What types of food are you feeding your body? How much care are you taking of your appearance?

I’ll be talking more about these things in coming weeks because they’re very important to anybody wanting to boost their confidence and self esteem, and it really doesn’t take that much effort as you will see!
