Why have I chosen to promote Younique products?

img_4067.jpg

IMG 4067I have a career that I love and am finally doing something that not only challenges me, but it is rewarding too. I’m very lucky to have found such an awesome job, and I thank my lucky stars every day!

So why have I decided to promote Younique products in addition to my very busy career?

As you all know, I’m all about women building their confidence and self esteem, and Younique’s mission really resonated with me:

“Younique’s mission is to uplift, empower, validate, and ultimately build self-esteem in women around the world through high-quality products that encourage both inner and outer beauty and spiritual enlightenment while also providing opportunities for personal growth and financial reward.”

Now, I know as well as you do, that beauty is only skin deep, and we should not live our lives trying to look like something that we’re not. That’s a given.

So look at it this way….

When you buy a new outfit that you know looks great on you and flatters your figure, you feel better about yourself, right? Same goes with makeup. You don’t have to pack it on with a spatula – you can apply makeup subtly, but it will give you an internal boost that reflects outwardly too.

Also, as a Younique presenter, I now have an additional stream of income, which of course provides me with more financial security, which again helps to build my confidence in myself and confidence in my ability to succeed.

Another reason why I like Younique is because the products are well priced, and the cost to become a presenter is very small when compared with other companies, so as I loved their mascara (it does amazing things to your eyelashes!), I figured I would like to buy them at a 25%+ discount so I signed up. Now I have friends and family using the products, and of course I use them every day too!

The thing is, when you’re struggling with your confidence and self esteem, that’s a good time to find something that gives your life purpose. What are you working toward? What goals do you have? What makes you feel good about yourself?

Once you find something that gives you purpose and goals, you will find that your outlook on life will improve quite dramatically.

So…. what are you going to do next year to give your life some purpose? What goals do you want to set yourself for next year?

2015 and beyond – what are your goals?

flower.png

flower

New year is approaching and that’s the time when we all reflect on the year that has past and make plans for the future, right?

So…. let’s start a few days early!

I know that it’s common for a new year’s resolution to be dropped over time, so let’s think about what you want to do LONG term. What do you want to achieve in 5-10 years? What can you do next year to move you closer to that goal?

That’s where my thoughts are right now.

I’ve always had this feeling that I was destined for more than the regular 9-5, and after being offered a redundancy at work in July this year, it really opened my eyes up to how unreliable a job really is. It made me realise that if I don’t do something about creating a secondary stream of income soon, what will happen if I am made redundant again in my current job?

I’ve had a lot to think about! And this is the basis of everything I have decided I need to do this coming year. My future is important to me, and I don’t want to hit 60 or 65 and have nothing. I want to have at the very LEAST, a small nest egg and recurring income to sustain me.

I’ve dabbled in many things over the years and while I love the products I’ve been selling, the whole time it takes to work in those businesses was just too much for me – plus they required that I go out every week and do stand up presentations. Whilst I don’t really suffer from stage fright anymore, the last thing I want to do after working a 12 hour day, is to go out again, stand in front of a dozen or so people, tell them how wonderful the product is (and it is), then deal with a bunch of skeptics.

Nah, I’m leaving that for those with thicker skin and more energy!

So… as I posted earlier in the month, I’ve found a skincare and makeup line that suits me perfectly, and selling it has actually been easier than I thought! Why? Because I use it, I tell my friends, I show them the results, and they are like “Wow!”, and they buy. Two have already joined me in this business, they’re so impressed!

Not only is this product easy to sell, but there was something else about the product line that I loved:

  • Their motto: Living the Younique lifestyle is a commitment to uplifting, empowering, and validating women everywhere. It’s devoting yourself to helping a global family of women realize their potential for personal growth and financial reward. This is in line with what I’ve been trying to do on this site – provide women with a way to empower themselves so that they can make better life choices. Awesome!
  • Their products are not tested on animals, are mostly natural, and they’re AMAZING! As a relative of mine said, “Omgsh Michelle those fiber lashes are amazeballs! So beautiful and long & lush! Pls send me info on how to become a rep!”. Yup it was THAT easy! All she had to do was try them and she fell in love.
  • I can do this thing 100% online. No need to go to somebody’s house and do a “party”, no having to get a bunch of people over so I can do a presentation, none of that. All I have to do is get myself on Facebook and post before and after shots of myself and my lovely customers, answer questions (on Facebook) and post the link to my free website, created by the company! I can do this thing in addition to my job without compromising a thing – and my relationship gets to stay intact too! 😉

So… here’s what I plan to do next month based on all of this, as I’ve decided to set myself up some monthly challenges, which will get me towards my main long-term goal:

  • Continue to promote this business and increase sales. This is a relatively new company, so word is only just starting to get out about it. NOW is the time to get started in this, when it’s just taking off. Who knows where it will end up?? :)
  • Have at least one more person join my team, so I achieve the “Fast Start” award. To achieve this I need to earn 2000 in “PRS points” (these are points allocated with every sale – I’ve already achieved this), and have three new presenters join my team. Last night Presenter #2 joined my team, so I have one to go! Woohoo! And I didn’t have to convince anybody – they asked ME about joining. This is important, because it highlights just how awesome the products are!
  • Focus on achieving Pink status. This company sets you up as a “White status” presenter. The next level is Yellow (I have achieved this and have received a pay rise as a result), followed by Pink. So pink is my next goal! Wooooo!

So that’s my January goals!

What’s stopping you from living your dreams?

img_8908.jpg

One of my biggest goals in life has been to travel more, to see the beautiful world we live in….

But like most people, I’ve never had the time nor the money to do so – I’ve not even had enough time or money to see my own country! Until recently, that is…

Last week, I went on a little adventure with my eldest daughter. She’s 16 and I know that all too soon, she will be spreading her wings and flying from the nest, so I knew I needed to do this with her sooner rather than later.IMG 8908

So as I am now representing a Travel Club that offers discounted holidays, I figured it was time to book us in for a little break IMG 8859together. I found the perfect holiday for us, and booked us in!

We traveled to Cairns, in far north Queensland for 3 glorious sun-filled days, and had a blast!

Not only that, but we saved several hundred dollars on our trip – more than I expected!IMG 8933

We were taken on a tour of the Daintree Forest and Cape Tribulation, and had the opportunity to see some beautiful parts of the country, including a float down the croc-infested Daintree River, I kissed a crocodile (a baby!), and we ate like we’ve never eaten before!

We were also lucky to see some gorgeous sunsets, and we made some new friends too!

So what’s stopping you living your dreams? Is it money? Is it time? Or is it both?

There IS a way to get the time and the money you need, but of course you need a vehicle. I have found something that I can work on part time while I work on other things, plus I have the added benefit of discounted flights and holidays.

If you would like to know more about this opportunity, please contact me.

Think your job is safe? Think again!

Butterfly 70x70

Today I received some news that shocked me, although at the same time it wasn’t completely unexpected.

My job was made redundant. For many people, news such as this would be devastating, because what it means is that your main source of income has suddenly disappeared!

But for me, I feel mixed. I feel kind of unsettled, because things are uncertain, but I also feel excited, because this could also mean that I am freed up to work on my business full time, as I will have a rather large payout to live on for a bit!

When you only have one source of income, you really are at the mercy of your employer. But when you work for yourself, you’re only at the mercy of yourself – because your actions will bring in or turn away customers!

So do you have a Plan B, for just in case your job is no longer yours? If not, why not? What are you waiting for? Until it’s too late?

For most people, the news of a redundancy is completely unexpected, and all of a sudden they’re left with no options whatsoever. Please don’t let that happen to you.

Want to know what I’m doing? Check out my Travel Club and watch video #2. This will not only give me access to discounted holidays, but it will also make me money and provide me with free flights and holidays!! Woohoo!

What is your Plan B? Five interesting ways to make money from home

Butterfly 70x70

I’m a huge advocate for creating additional ways to make an income. No jobs are 100% safe, so it’s important that you have a Plan B in place to protect you.

So today I’ve decided to put together a list of things I’ve done or things others have done, in order to create and additional income. Some of these may work for you, some won’t.

I just hope that by reading through these ideas you’re inspired to take some action to protect yourself and your family from suffering what so many have, when a job is lost…

Ok, so here are some ideas that may spark some interest!

  1. Affiliate sales – selling another company’s products from your own website, and receiving a commission on sales. I have a site that promotes and sells a workout program, as well as protein and other supplements.
  2. Selling your own items – on eBay, sites like Gumtree (in Australia), or your own website. A good cull of what’s in your house might be a good way to get started, then go from there.
  3. MLM (Amway) – Ok ok, Amway has gotten a bit of a bad name over the years, and unfortunately due to the few who believe that “tricking” people into seeing the business plan is an ethical way of doing things, people are wary. I’m in Amway but not for the business side. I’m in there for the various products I like to buy from them. I have friends who have become quite successful in the business side of things with Amway, and this company has been around for 50+ years, so there’s a lot of credibility there.
  4. Freelance writing – I did this for a while, and still have a few clients who I write for. I write content for websites, I write ebooks, and I even write tweets for Twitter, or Facebook posts. If you want to learn more about how I got started with this, please contact me.
  5. MLM (World Ventures) – This one is by far my favourite, and is definitely showing signs that it’s going to be “the one” for me. It’s based on cheap travel (what’s not to like about that??) and the concept is easy to “sell”. In fact, there really is no “selling” at all. You just show people the promo video and they decide for themselves if they like it. If they do, they sign up. If they don’t, then they don’t. Easy! More info on this can be found on this site here (watch video #2).

So there you have it – five interesting ways to make money from home.

What would happen if you lost your job tomorrow?

Butterfly 70x70

It has been said that most of us are only 3 paydays away from bankruptcy.

What this means is that if you were to lose your job tomorrow, and with no other means to make an income, it would take only 3 paydays before you’ve run out of cash.

Ouch!

I had a very vivid dream last night. In this dream I was made redundant from my job and throughout the dream I was in a panic about how I was going to survive financially.

I would have to move out of the beautiful home I love and possibly go and live with my parents in their already overcrowded home, I would lose my car, and things would NOT be looking good at all!

Well… thankfully this did not happen, and even better, thankfully I’m working on my Plan B. Plan B for me includes generating an income that will eventually replace my current income. I’m getting there slowly and with very little effort, but the fact is I’m moving toward my goal.

What are you doing to protect yourself against a job loss?

If you’re looking for ideas, stay tuned – I’m going to post soon with a list of things I’m doing right now. You never know… one of these things may work for you!

Why will my circle of friends influence my success?

Butterfly 70x70

I was at a seminar in 2005 when the audience was asked to write down the names of the five people closest to us.

We were then asked to write down what we believed their approximate income was.

After that we were asked to add the income figures together, then divide by 5.

I was very surprised to see that the average incomes of those closest to me was almost exactly what my income was at the time! Woah!

The point of this exercise was to point out that we are the product of our environment – we are whom we associate with. So if your 5 closest friends are all unemployed and not going very well in life at all, then chances are, you’re not much (if at all) better off.

I look back on that day and who my closest friends were at the time, then look at my situation now, and realise that I’ve taken several huge steps up. So has my income!

It was by chance that I was able to introduce myself to a very successful entrepreneur who later become a good friend, at an event in 2006 that began a trail of events and interactions that were to shape who I am now, and the goals I have set for myself.

Only a couple of months ago, I was sitting in a maxi taxi in Singapore with several very successful businessmen (including my friend from 2006!), heading out for a night on the town! This is a FAR cry from where I was in 2005 – there’s NO WAY I could have predicted that I’d be rubbing shoulders with people of such a high calibre, let alone socialising with them!

So while I’m not receiving specific “perks” by hanging out with this new crowd, I AM feeling inspired by them. These people have achieved success and I’m learning by associating with them, how the way these people think is somewhat different to the average 9-5 worker.

I am also learning that while my job is secure for now, there are no guarantees. Plus I’m learning that I can succeed at whatever I put my mind to, because my friend didn’t have a special kind of background. He wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth. In fact, he was probably worse off than I was as a child. And here he is now, a multimillionaire.

Ok, so what if you don’t know anybody who has achieved great success? What can you do to get around them and learn from them?

There are a number of ways:

  1. Many successful people have written books about their success. Buy them. Devour them. Learn from them.
  2. Work on yourself. Personal development is important if you want to succeed.
  3. Attend events where these people are presenting. One example of such an event is this freebie: www.journeytowealth.com.au. This is being held in Australia and Singapore, and here you will get to meet the presenters who will talk about their success and be there to answer your questions. I LOVE These events and this is how I came to find myself with a very cool circle of friends!
  4. Look outside the box. If you think that working for somebody else for the rest of your life is going to help you to achieve great success, you obviously haven’t had a good look at your current circle of friends.
  5. If you’re smarter than, or are more successful than all of your friends, get some more, smarter and more successful friends!

So… what are you doing to expand your circle of influence? 😉

What will your life look like in retirement?

Butterfly 70x70

I’ve been doing some reading about retirement and stats about how much people have to live on once they’re working no more, and OMG I am shocked!

I shouldn’t be, because I’ve worked in the Superannuation industry here in Australia for the last 11 years, but it’s looking pretty grim.

They’re saying that most people will run out of money in around 11 years!!

And come to think of it, I remember many occasions of people coming in to withdraw their retirement savings – everything they had – and it was a measly $15,000 or so.

What on earth do they think they’re going to be able to do with THAT???

I’m 41 now, and that means that if I’m planning on working for someone else for the rest of my working years, I have around 20 years to sort my savings out.

TWENTY YEARS???? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve already been working that long! And I have to work ANOTHER TWENTY YEARS????

Blah!

Ok, so you’ve probably guessed that the prospect of spending another year, let alone another 20 in the workforce, is not an appealing one for me. And you’re right.

I’m sorry but I want to live my fun years NOW, while I’m still young enough to fully enjoy them! Once I’m 60, who knows what my body will be like? Will I be all hunched over and wrinkly? Mmmm… not a great look on a white sandy beach!

So no. I will NOT wait till I’m in my 60’s to retire. I’d rather do things much sooner than that.

With that in mind, what could you do with another $500 a month? Reduce debt, build savings, take a fabulous holiday? And what if to achieve that, it was something that was relatively easy (and simple) to do? And what if you didn’t have to do a massive amount of work to achieve it?

Want to know more? Please Contact me. :)

Are you going to be working in a job for the rest of your life?

tropical4.jpg

tropical4I’ve been lucky enough to meet some very successful people in the last 8 years or so, and none of them actually work for someone else (funny that).

They’ve made their money by achieving results based purely on their own performance, rather than the performance of the organisation they work for.

For many years now, I have known I am meant for so much more than the 9 to 5 grind, but I’ve been yet to come across something that not only will make me money, but is in an industry I’m passionate about too. I want to be excited about what I’m doing!

Imagine being able to set your own hours! Imagine being able to take a vacation whenever you want! Imagine working hard and getting rewarded for it, every single month! Imagine feeling excited about starting your work day! Imagine being able to travel to exotic destinations, several times a year!!!

For most people this is the unattainable dream, but I’ve seen it happen too many times for me to not believe it can happen to me. Many of these people are less educated than I am, they’re not as smart, they didn’t have as good a start in life. So if they can do it, why can’t I???

You know what sets them apart from everyone else? They see what they want and they go after it! They don’t let “dream stealers” get to them – they are so lazer-focused on their goals, that nobody can sway them! They’re goal-setting machines!

Are you going to be working in a job for the rest of your life? Or are you looking for something more? What are your goals for the future? Do you want to work for the next 40 years or would you rather have better for yourself?

If you’re into travelling, I might have something you’re interested in… This is a travel club with a difference. Not only do you receive massive discounts on travel, but you can make money from it too. What’s not to like?? 😉

What would you do if you lost your job tomorrow?

Butterfly 70x70

I was at a wealth creation seminar several years ago when the presenter on stage announced that most of us are only 3 paycheques away from bankruptcy. I thought “What? NO way!”.

But when I thought about it, I realised that if all of a sudden I stopped getting paid, I would eventually run out of money like he said. But of course I knew my job was safe…

And that’s what most people think – they’ve been working for the same employer for many years, and they feel safe. That is, until they’re told the company they’re working for has run out of money and is shutting its doors.

This is happening all too often right now. Companies are still feeling the pinch of the global financial crisis and while some have managed to last this long, they’re only hanging by a string. Soon enough, they may have to close their doors too, just like many others.

I live in Brisbane, Australia and in the past if you’ve been lucky enough to secure a government job (parden the “secure” pun), you’re set for life. But no more. They’re in the process of letting thousands upon thousands of people go, with several thousand already gone.

What do these people do? With thousands of people suddenly in the market for a new job, there’s now a lot more competition out there!

So what would you do if you lost your job tomorrow? What if there were no other jobs available?

What’s happening now is one of the reasons why I’m working on setting up an income in addition to my “real job”. This is because my job may not be there tomorrow, next week, or maybe even next year. I MUST have a backup plan in place!

So what is your backup plan? And what should a good backup plan look like?

Here are some ideas to get you thinking:

  • It must be “GFC-safe”. For example, your new business should not be affected by events such as the GFC, so you need to find something that will generate income, by providing something that consumers use, regardless of the state of their finances.
  • It must generate you a recurring income – your bank account is topped up every single month – and not necessarily due to your own hard work!
  • It must be low risk or risk free – If you’re facing losing your job, the last thing you want is to risk even more, right?
  • It must be inexpensive to get started – I’m sure if you’re reading this that you don’t necessarily have thousands of dollars to invest in setting up your own business – and the more you invest, the higher the risk, right?
  • It must be something that allows you to invest in your own business, just by changing the way you’ve been doing things for years.
  • It must be simple to do – something that has been proven successful before (again to reduce risk).

I’m already involved in such a business and I know many people who have achieved ultimate financial freedom by doing what I am doing now. So many people have been able to quit their jobs because of this business, and many with no experience or specific skills at all – you’re taught all of that.

Want to know more? Then please Contact Me and ask me about it (no matter where you live, this might be for you). :)
